In a world awash in websites how can your business site stand out?

Even today it seems many companies focus, and spend a great deal of time, tweaking and tweaking again, keywords listed in the meta tag of a web page. This in spite of the assertion by Matt Cutts of Google® that at least since 2009 Google has not used meta tag keywords in their algorithm.

What is important—for your site visitors and Google—is that the site is, as Google puts it, “information-rich”; clearly laid out; with all pages connected by at least one intra-site link.

Why settle for a non-semantic site when you can have a site that follows best practices?

Why does this matter? Two sites can be designed, one according to best practices, the other not, such that they appear identical to the site visitor. However, a well coded site will not be “buggy” now, as well as more “future proof” going forward.

Haystack Graphics can design or update a site in standards compliant html and css. Our preference, in keeping with our “future proof” emphasis, is to avail ourselves of html5 and css3.

Another approach we may well suggest, in keeping with our desire that you, the business owner, can readily keep your site up to date, is to build sites using WordPress as the content management system (CMS).
